Hi devs.

I just have seen changelog for 44.0.6 and it points out to "fix crash after windows 11 update", but this is simply not true (I'm on Windows 10 22H2 and have had Slimjet crashing, when it goes online - when start offline - with internet disconnected, it went fine)

Could You say about the real cause of 44.x.x and 43.x.x crash?
Instead of complaining that the reason for the update is not entirely correct, you should be happy that there is an update so quickly! Microsoft would need months for this! A sincere thank you to the developer(s) is more appropriate!
MS will soon no longer support W10, will you also complain if Slimjet or something else no longer works?

I'm not complaining - I really want to know, what went wrong with previous versions of Slimjet.

This is simply not true. Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 versions are supported up to 2032:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_1 ... on_history

I´m using them because i want to skip Windows 11 and hope for a better Windows 12.

For about € 150 - € 200 you can get 10 years support for it and can use it for everything you want, even gaming works perfect. I bought it in Germany at release in 2021:

Yes, Yes, Yes. And it even gets more strange because also people who are using Linux reported that crashing problem and Slimjet for Linux didn´t get updatet. It´s still version 44.0.5.0. :?
And now it gets really exciting. Slimjet for Linux also has changed yesterday evening but the version number 44.0.5.0 was still retained. I downloaded this version a few days ago and could see this morning that the hash had changed. :?
It's possible the developer simply forgot to change the version number in the code, esp. if you see the hash has changed.

Possible is always a lot but it would be better to get informed about what really is going on.

I had 44.0.6.0 (portabl, 32bit) open for a while now, also with both main profiles. My tabs seem to load okay

However the

The requested URL was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/2.4.41 (Ubuntu) Server at www[dot]primepuzzle[dot]com Port 443

problem still remains.

Since the big crash Slimjet (all versions) is the only browser that can not open this http : // www[dot]primepuzzle[dot]com/leeslightest/maukie.html website. That's ridiculous! The site exists is up and running, Centbrowser can, Edge can, LibreWolf can, Pale Moon can, Slimjet always could, but no more. Any idea what can be behind this strange phenomenon?
With the "Version 44.0.6.0 (based on Chromium 126.0.6478.17) (Official Build) (64-bit)" I get this message from both the links you posted:

The connection to www[dot]primepuzzle[dot]com is not secure

You usually connect to sites securely, but Slimjet couldn't use a secure connection this time. An attacker might be trying to eavesdrop or modify your network connection. Learn more

with the "Continue to site" button. Clicking that leads to "http : // primepuzzle[dot]com/not.just.tiny.c/Table_Of_Contents.html".

Additionally, "https : // www[dot]primepuzzle[dot]com/" returns

Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www[dot]primepuzzle[dot]com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). Learn more
NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

followed by this under "Advanced"

This server could not prove that it is www[dot]primepuzzle[dot]com; its security certificate is not trusted by your computer's operating system. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.

Proceed to www[dot]primepuzzle[dot]com (unsafe)

Proceeding then returns this error:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access this resource.

Apache/2.4.41 (Ubuntu) Server at www[dot]primepuzzle[dot]com Port 443

again, that's for https : // www[dot]primepuzzle[dot]com

Once I allowed the connection to the http (not https) URL, Slimjet remembers my choice, and the second, specific URL you posted does load a puzzle page. So, it is very odd.

In Chrome, the non-https link takes me immediately to the Table of Contents page. No error or warning, and I don't think I've ever been to that site before. Trying to access the https version does give me the

message. And proceeding anyway returns the same

Apache/2.4.41 (Ubuntu) Server at www[dot]primepuzzle[dot]com Port 443

I had to alter the URLs herein, as this board doesn't let newbies post external links

Won't happen. Private software that he developed for his own use originally released for public use as Slimbrowser then moved onward from there. Slimjet is the third browser engine he's wrapped his own code around. Only the developer and any team members he involves are privy to the technical details. If he ever decides to move the code to public domain then I have no doubt all the details will be available.
For those of you who wear aluminum foil hats, the voices lie, don't believe them!
Mostly my replies are about Windows OS. If not I try to remember to specify Linux.

I have no more crashes with version 40.0.6.0 too. Strange thing is that the release notes say the reason was an update for Windows 11 (fix crash after windows 11 update) and i´m using Windows 10 from 2021 without any updates. :?
I found it strange, too, because even though I am using Windows 11, I have not updated since the 8th and the browser was working fine all that time. Today everyone got bugged out at the same time, it must have been some other outside issue to have hit all of us at the same time regardless of the OS version we use.
Surprisingly - my guess about that Windows Update reason (on page 2 of this thread) was right.
Most probably there was something inside that last Windows Update for Windows10/11 what could
not cooperate with Slimjet Portable version 44.0.5.0.

Thanks for developers very operative work, issuing new update - Slimjet Portable version 44.0.6.0.
Checked all main browser features and - Slimjet browser works great for me again!!! :)

Same over here. Running windows 10 on 2 separate machines (last updated 2022) and both crashed as well. Another on windows 11 21H2 same thing.

44.0.6.0 fix all three, working great so far. :D
