Google Data Saver Plugin

Post by New Wake »

:) Can't get Google Data Saver Plugin to work with SlimJet... It always shows 0, for Data Savings. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?

Are you certain it is not working? The plugin will only use the google servers to optimize a page if it is not secure or being viewed in incognito mode. This leaves only the http pages which are fewer and fewer these days as many servers are setup as https even if they don't really need to be.

I'll run it on my box for a while and see what happens here.

I use a large mix of http/https urls. I've recently removed the plugin, ditched my cache, and Its still showing a savings in Google Chrome but not in Slimjet. (Google vs Slimjet images attached.)

I've run it for a while now. I've gotten a report that shows minimal usage.

www.consumersearch.com 1.0 MB 1.0 MB 1.9 KB (0.2%)

The rest of it is zero.

I'm thinking that for security improvement flashpeak minimized the behind the scenes push to google servers and in doing so the pathway used by this plugin was ... plugged.
