default browser

Sorry for a question that has probably been answered. Tried to search, but can't make it work.
How do you make Slimjet the default browser. I have made the obvious selection under settings, but it won't stick. Also, made the selection at the top of the page when Slimjet first opens. Still won't stick.

Follow-up: I found the answer. It must be done by making it a "preferred application" within my OS (a linux distro). Thanks.

In Windows you can go to your Control Panel, then Default Programs , and then highlight Slimjet in the list of programs and set it as the default. This is what I had to do in Windows 10 Pro.

Thanks. I found the answer about the same time you replied. Basically what you said only the Linux version. See my follow-up above.

I am having the same problem assigning this as the default browser on Windows 10

From the control panel, I go to the screen to choose all of the default programs.
When I click on the browser options, chrome, Microsoft edge, IE and SlimJet.
If I click on any other browser it will select it and assign it. If I click on slimjet, it's as if I'm not clicking on it at all. It doesn't select it or highlight it, and never switches to it. It also doesn't work from the prompt on Slimjet asking to be the default browser.

Is there something else I can do?
