[REQUEST] Universal Video Downloader

Can we have a universal video downloader. As of right now, SlimJet provides YouTube downloader. But for any other site I have to use an online downloader which is cumbersome or a third party downloader, which defeats the purpose of Turbo charged downloader.

For those of you who wear aluminum foil hats, the voices lie, don't believe them!
Mostly my replies are about Windows OS. If not I try to remember to specify Linux.
