Please tell me how to enable the bookmarks side panel. (I am /not/ asking about moving the bookmarks tool bar.)
The Slimjet website states that a user can open a bookmarks side panel (as in Firefox)
https://www.slimjet.com/en/lp/bookmarks ... limjet.php
via "Bookmarks->Show bookmarks side panel from the main menu".
Unfortunately, the "show bookmarks side panel" option does not appear in the most recent version (18.0.1) that runs on OSX. (I can't try the current version 18.0.2, since it crashes on opening.)
Thank you in advance !!

Re: how to open bookmarks side panel ?
Does the bookmark manager open
Ctrl+Shift+O (letter oh)
And the previous one was Ctrl+I (where it is the letter "eye")
And just to confirm, you do not have any access to Bookmarks from the Settings menu? There is normally a selection for Bookmarks that appears on the Settings menu which has a further set of menu items to choose form including opening the side bar, as well as displaying your bookmarks as part of the menu.

Re: how to open bookmarks side panel ?
@oftentired: Thank you, sincerely, for trying to help. In reply:
1. Under OSX 10.12.6, the keyboard commands you suggest do nothing.
2. The Bookmarks manager is accessible, but that does not help.
3. The settings address the placement of the Bookmarks TOOLBAR -- but as I wrote in the OP, my query is NOT how to change the placement of the toolbar, it is how to open a Bookmarks Side Panel (as in Firefox), which is what the website (whose link I posted) claims is possible.
Again, my sincere thanks to you, but the discrepancy between the website's claim and the product is not resolved.

Re: how to open bookmarks side panel ?
Yeah, I think I described it inaccurately
The Gear Menu should open up and instead of going into Settings (for some reason my brain was thinking settings) right there on the Gear Menu should be an item for Bookmarks with a submenu. I do not know why it would be missing from OSX version.
Here is what I see when I'm opening the menu

Re: how to open bookmarks side panel ?
@oftentired: Yes, thank you, the command is there and works just fine.
The source of the confusion is that in OSX the command menu for the active application appears in the Menu Bar across the top of the screen. So, I see (left-to-right): Slimjet, File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks ..... and the Bookmarks heading does not show the side panel option, nor is it found in Slimjet/Preferences.
Thank you again for your patience and for your help !!

Re: how to open bookmarks side panel ?
I was about to ask how to open/close it. But this answers my question.
