Cannot play Foxnews.com videos [Solved]

Post by hoolatachunk »

I am running Linux Mint Mate 18. I am also running slimjet ver 12.0.9.0 and have been running slimjet for 2+ years. I only recently discovered the videos on foxnews.com would not play. To begin with, I thought it may be only a temporary outage. I was wrong. I noticed that Firefox was working correctly. I installed Chromium browser and it too works fine on these videos. In an attempt to solve my problem, I have tried changing all my settings for slimjet and completely deleting the config file. I even installed previous editions of slimjet. Any ideas?

Due to the cost of h264 codec, Linux platforms running Slimjet will not be able to play video which requires the h264 codec.

Mostly my replies are about Windows OS. If not I try to remember to specify Linux.

Thanks for the speedy reply. Ouch, that is bad! I was afraid I had accidentally installed something that caused the problem.
