New Problem---- Restore Pages ?
New Problem---- Restore Pages ?
All of a sudden now after a fresh boot of my computer and when I open up Slimjet, it tells me that Slimjet did not shut down correctly and do I want to restore pages. Why ?

You probably had Slimjet running, reduced to the taskbar, when you shutdown/resarted your box. And for some reason the OS did not shut down Slimjet in the preferred manner.

Mostly my replies are about Windows OS. If not I try to remember to specify Linux.

I do not think so because this is happening frequently. I will be making sure that the process is not running before I shut down or reboot and see if this continues.
Re: New Problem---- Restore Pages ?
check your task manager , you only need one process of slimjet to be running and this can happen even if you have shut it down properly (x close button top right or right click close window in taskbar)
Re: New Problem---- Restore Pages ?
Correct. I have the box unchecked under "System" that pertains to running background apps when Slimjet is closed. I am experimenting a bit here now to see if I get this message again and if it relates also to having multiple tabs open when I close the browser. I did a reboot after shutting Slimjet down with multiple tabs open and I did not get the message.dev wrote:check your task manager , you only need one process of slimjet to be running and this can happen even if you have shut it down properly (x close button top right or right click close window in taskbar)
Re: New Problem---- Restore Pages ?
yeah its just a case of a process not hanging up and the os not being able to close that process in the manner that it should be , hence the crash report ...may be a extension doing it, best way to find out is leave slimjet open with tabs open that use any extensions etc you have running then do a shutdown'restart of the os leaving slimjet open and see if you get a crash report then, close a tab each time which then may lead to the culprit
Re: New Problem---- Restore Pages ?
The bug is still present in the new 12.0 version. So something is hanging up the process of shutting down the browser completely. I may turn around later today and do a complete and thorough uninstall of Slimjet and then start from scratch once again.
Re: New Problem---- Restore Pages ?
So far, so good. I did a complete and thorough uninstall of Slimjet using Revo and left no trace on my system. Then did a new install of the 12.0 Beta version. So far I am not seeing anything bad going on. I will see for sure in the morning when I boot back up if the Restore Pages message appears or not.
EDIT: I think that this Restore Pages deal is a thing of the past for me now. Not sure what was causing it, but the reinstall solved it.
