It's important to note that I have Google Chrome, Comodo Dragon, SRWare Iron browsers too and the extension installs flawlessly on them. Maybe you don't have these browsers at the same time installed on your system. I have the problem on both of my laptops, and even my friends to whom I recommended EagleGet had trouble to run on Slimjet, because they also had Google Chrome installed on their system. The problem was not present in the past when Slimjet was using the Webkit engine.dev wrote:I've installed the extension in my slimjet (beta 11) and the standalone program which then took to me to this page http://www.eagleget.com/enable-eagleget ... le-chrome/(the bog standard help page really) but i followed the instuctions there and it works fine which points to a problem your end.
Yes it auto-installs into any chromium/firefox/ie based browsers and it used to auto-install and work flawlessly in Slimjet during Webkit engine times.dev wrote: i think it may be that the standalone product installs the extensions to any broswer it sees and recognises on a system which seems to be the case for you as you have said the extension was disabled (that's the reason you are getting that message telling you its already installed) now you said you renabled it but then it dissappeared , well it may have not uninstalled you should see a menu / pop up "remove from Slimjet" for proper removal.
I deleted the EagleGet extension folder "kaebhgioafceeldhgjmendlfhbfjefmo" from all the profiles of the above browsers including Chrome, Iron, Dragon and Slimjet. I completely uninstalled EagleGet from the system. I restarted computer back again, and installed EagleGet again. And I still get the problem.dev wrote:I would look in your profile folder check and delete the folder if there that corresponds with the eagleget extension it will be the letters that the store show kaebhgioafceeldhgjmendlfhbfjefmo: so either type this in your address bar chrome://open_profile_folder which should open your user data folder then look for the extensions folder and delete the folder or through your computer its C:\Users\[REPLACE WITH LOGGED IN USER NAME]\AppData\Local\Slimjet\User Data\extensions then reinstall just the extension. If you're using the dragging and drop method make sure you have the developer mode ticked on the extensions page.
It might be you have a corrupt profile in slimjet or chrome and more so if you use google sync that may be causing the problem
Barring that you might need to completely remove eagleget from your computer and start a new.
The extension somehow came into Slimjet extensions page when Slimjet was started for the first time, but was disabled, but no matter what I do it doesn't enable itself. I closed the browser and restarted it again and voila, the extension disappeared totally from the extensions tab of Slimjet.
Is it because EagleGet installs itself automatically into Chrome and other Chromium based browsers that it shows that the extension is already installed and doesn't work on Slimjet? But this shouldn't be the case, because it works fine on any other Chromium based browser including Opera and Vivaldi.
Try uninstalling EagleGet and install Chrome and Dragon alongside Slimjet, while keeping Chrome as the default browser and see if you have the problem.
This is all sad because Slimjet is my favourite browser, yet can't use it because it's now not compatible with EagleGet.
