When I download a file or pics a "downloaded files" toolbar pops up at bottom of page.
It's annoying because it reduces the size of any displayed image.
OK, I can close it with the 'X' button or clear downloads which is time consuming.
Any way to disable this information bar?

Re: Howto disable downloaded files toolbar?
If you use the Turbo Charged Download Manager it will inform you of the downloads with a small dialog box instead of the download bar. You still have to X the little window but it is far less intrusive in that it does not remove real estate from the monitor.
Possibly a download manager extension will remove any intrusion completely but I have not the desire to experiment with the variety available to check.

I use "Your Downloads Box" extension. Excellent, and no need to click anything.
