44.0.4.0
So, I was hoping the CPU usage problem would be fixed, but it hasn't been fixed yet. This time, I went into the Slimjet Task Manager to find out what is causing the CPU usage. I found a process called "Utility: Passage Embedding Service", which reports 99% CPU usage within Slimjet, but the actual CPU usage on my computer, is actually 10% of my CPU load. I haven't pinpointed what starts this process, but the process does not seem to get killed automatically by Slimjet. I am also not sure if there can be multiple instances of this process, which would spike the actual CPU usage up to 100% if the problematic processes accumulate.

I agree. So I set-up this:
chrome:flags -> History Embeddings -> Disabled
and CPU usage is back to normal

nice
now my slimjet install is skipping along like a kid out having fun, it was a bit sluggish with the embedding on

this version consumes the processor as hell, why?

Interesting! Looks like History Embedding is a feature for AI searching/indexing, and has been causing a known issue in Chromium for months already... https://issues.chromium.org/issues/341875172.
Let's see how it goes from now on, disabling this flag manually...

Re: 44.0.4.0
I checked an older install (43.0.8.0) and it does not have the history embedding flag, so I guess that it was added in a subsequent update.
Disabled it in my 40.0.4.0 installs and it made a world of difference where my CPU temps have been routinely running in the 70's C with the fan constantly spinning-up - while previously they had been in the 30's-low 40's and fan rarely running before the 40.0.4.0 update was installed.
Having it enabled would've certainly impacted battery duration on those laptops.

I've been using the latest version of UGC 129, and the History Embedding was not causing CPU spikes on my rig. Regardless, after learning how to turn it off, I turned it off on UGC as well, to hopefully improve overall performance.
