Slimjet won't open today!

Just tried to open Slimjet this morning (as usual) and it won't open! Long time user, never had this problem before. Tried various "Right Click" options, nothing. Reinstalled it, seemed like it did, but still won't open.

I've tried searching the forum before posting to ask for help, but couldn't find anything. For some reason I'm not very good at searching the forum, don't know why that is, but yes, I've tried to find an answer in the forum first.

Moving this to the General forum as I'm thinking 99% sure this is an issue involving your PC not the Slimjet program code.

A little more info and perhaps someone using the forum will have a suggestion.

Have you restarted your OS?

What OS are your running?

Which version of Slimjet do you have installed?

Did anything at all happen when you attempted to run Slimjet? (Any blips, white screen, messages)

Have you installed any security programs of any kind recently?

Do you have another browser that ran just fine?

I have a same issue from this morning.
This is not first time having this kind of issue though.

Have you restarted your OS? YES

What OS are your running? Windows 11

Which version of Slimjet do you have installed? 43.0.7.0

Did anything at all happen when you attempted to run Slimjet? (Any blips, white screen, messages) Nothing happens when I try to open

Have you installed any security programs of any kind recently? NO

Do you have another browser that ran just fine? YES

Having the same problem. Slimjet will not open. Click on it, nothing happens. I uninstalled then reinstalled it comes up but then when I try to sync my google account it crashes and will not come back up.

Any updates. i thought I was the only one having this problem.

Here's the additional info requested:

What OS are your running? Win 10

Which version of Slimjet do you have installed? Can't say for certain, but probably latest ver. as I recall it updated not too long ago. Also tried to re-install latest version from Flashpeak over top of current install.

Did anything at all happen when you attempted to run Slimjet? (Any blips, white screen, messages) No, no response at all. Tried the usual Taskbar icon, Program entry in Start menu as well as the .EXE in the programs folder.

Have you installed any security programs of any kind recently? No, absolutely no changes made to PC, however there WERE 2 Windows updates, (KB5041580 and KB5042352) but that was TWO days ago, and Slimjet opened normally afterwards.

Do you have another browser that ran just fine? Yes, Chrome opens as well as Edge and FireFox.

I too am having the same problem. Open Slimjet and select my usual profile, and it quits immediately. However, I created a second profile and it works, albeit without all of my links etc...

Mine doesn't even open at all.

However now, the only thing different is that I get the "Do you want to Allow this app to make changes to your device" window", so I'm assuming that my attempt to re-install did NOT complete.

I may try to uninstall and repeat the install routine, but I don't want to do too many things just yet until others have had a chance to weigh in on this problem.

Having the same problem here on three different laptops, all Linux Mint -- one is 20.1 Cinnamon and the other two are 22 Cinnamon. All running the latest 64-bit AMD Slimjet browser.

The LM 20.1 machine had two Slimjet windows up last evening and was left running overnight. They were closed when I looked at the machine this morning. Like the others here I was unable to restart the Slimjet browser. I have tried re-installing with the slimjet_amd64.deb file but the browser will still not start. I have also rebooted the machines multiple times.

the same issue today in the morning. i was browsing and than in one sec browser down. a lot of bookmarks passwords history reports were there.. and nothing working..

any solutions did you find? i have no idea how to restore my bookmarks collection

A Here is something to try. Especially for Windows OS 10 & 11

If Slimjet is not your default browser, make it default, then restart the PC and give it a go.

Changing default apps in Win 10 & 11: mash down the Win key and let it go, then start typing "default apps", after about three key strokes (def) you should see default apps as the search focus then you can hit Enter to run it.

B. Here is another thing to try, if you get Slimjet running but subsequently continue to have issues. With Slimjet running go to Settings and search "default browser", in this little setting section is a blue icon to Reset Default Registry Settings. Click that, after it is done you should get a popup window telling you it was successful which you then OK to close. I would then close Slimjet and restart the PC.
