I don't remember if anyone has done so. However, ChromeOS is linux based and it is setup, I think by default, to run Debian Linux apps. So if you want to mess around with it go to the Download page, click on "Show all platforms", the linux selection that works on Debian would be the one to...

Perhaps Flashpeak would be willing to maintain it as an Extension? I don't think he is willing to put the time involved into maintaining it as an actual imbedded feature.

I messed around with it a bit.
Looks like anytime you are dealing with Bookmarks, except for the sidebar, if a single column list of bookmarks will extend beyond the bottom of your screen, it will start another column of bookmarks, so you can see all of them listed at the same time.
