Web downloader doesn't actually install the program

Don't think I've had a version of SJ yet that did more than download the web installer (big download button). That is, it downloads an installer file, shows the download's progress bar to the end, then that's it. I've always had to open the file manually and rereun it, which eventually leads to English box. I use IDM for downloads, but that shouldn't block or interrupt the install process. Win 8.1
