Toolbar button to toggle turbo download manager?

Hi there,
My company's eTraining system has an JavaScript-based image link which when clicked generates a PDF file -- if the turbo download manager is not configured to automatically intercept downloads.
OTOH if the turbo download manager is configured to automatically intercept downloads, when that same JavaScript-based image link is clicked, the turbo download manager intercepts a HTM file...which is useless to me. I need the PDF file.
It would be great if there was a button on the toolbar where I could quickly click it and toggle between enabling and disabling automatic interception of downloads by the turbo download manager.
Either that, or...maybe a button within the turbo download manager dialog which pops up on intercept to tell the browser to re-process the download but this time via the normal download process instead of the turbo download manager.
