Nice one. any thing that reduces eye strain is a good thing
I recommend that you install the High Contrast extension:

Then click the High Contrast icon on the right side of the toolbar (or use Shift+F12) for various contrast enhancement options. When you find one that you like, click the [Set as Default Scheme] button on that menu.
Among other things, that extension can change gray text to black text that is easier to read.
