New to Slimjet - two questions

I'm new to Slimjet and have a couple questions about features that don't appear to be integrated that I'd like to see:
1) Zoom - with my old browser (FF) I could hold down the Ctrl button while moving two fingers up or down on my touch pad to zoom in/out respectively. I'm wondering if this is possible in Slimjet but that it's just disabled by default (or it's a setting I'm just not aware of). Otherwise, is there an extension available that would provide this functionality?
2) Reader Mode - I just discovered a context menu item called "Open in reading mode", but instead of using the entire browser window it opens the article in a side bar. So, yes - it removes all the graphics and only shows the body of the web page, but then the text is so small this defeats the purpose of providing a usable Reader Mode function. According to this article, this feature was once built-in to the browser...

Note that this article is in reference to v31.0.20. I'm running v43.0.9.0. This setting is not available in the version I'm running which seems counter intuitive considering that it's a (much) newer version of the browser. Is this feature still built-in but just disabled by default? If so, how do I enable it? Otherwise, is there an extension available to provide this functionality?
