There was an update today. Only fix listed is for youtube live. I just grabbed the portable 64bit. Windows 11. I'll try that for bit. I start fresh and re-sync.

If that gets hosed, I will try your version. Could be my extensions or something. They work in all other chrome variants. I'd rather use SJ.

I just deleted the User Data folder in one of those portables that would not even run. 44.0.3 And it opened normally. Something in that folder is corrupting something maybe. IDK
So I just put back that User Data folder that I deleted and it works. Not sure how long it will. This is strange.

Anyone know what version does not have that side by side error? Does 43.0.9.0 have it?
I am running 43.0.9.0 portable (32bit) without issues, except for that "crash report form" coming on every start without any crash having happenend before (other thread here in this forum about this). That can be clicked easily away, then you can work.

Last night I downloaded that new version 64 bit portable and synced. It was working.

This morning got the sidy by side error. I deleted my userdata folder. Same error, Copied a working user data folder from a working 43.0.7.0 portable. Same error. Ran a systrace. I don't know if it shows what is wrong in the log. I installed VC_redist.x64 latest. Didn't help.
Then I deleted that newest version SJ folder. Unpacked that portable again. It works. Have not synced yet. I will test it for while without syncing.

My 43.0.7.0 64bit portable always works and is fully synced. No crash error on closing.
EDIT: Mistake in that sentence above. I forgot that when I tried to open that My 43.0.7.0 64bit portable last night, absolutely nothing happened.
It's in my post above.

That one is still working today. Confused? LOL. Trying to be clear as I can. Just want to help.

What a mess, Slimjet has become extremely buggy and unstable in 44.0.2.0 on Linux... I had been waiting for the BETA flag to disappear... but then 44.0.3.0 is not yet available for Linux? 44.0.2.0 had me lose dozens of Google-related tabs that were open in tab groups and important sessions... ouch
Compatibility with MS365 based apps just went down the drain... barely no responses, Slimjet crashes without reboot after overloading CPU, etc.
That hurts...

I see the 44.0.3.0 update is up, but I am still hesitant to update. Has the CPU usage issues been solved?

44.0.3.0 seems to be only for Windows, not Linux (Download page still only shows 44.0.2.0 for Linux, package dated 2024-10-09, and the archive doesn't show any other sub-version within 44). CPU has been a mess since Slimjet forces preload of all tabs at opening (seems to come from Chromium maybe).

Well now 44.0.4.0 is written as available for Linux, but the package to be downloaded is still only 44.0.2.0 (still dated October 9).

Ok now 44.0.4.0 is available for Linux (new package from a few hours ago). We'll see if it goes better...

I am running at the moment SlimJet Portable Version 44.0.3.0 (Official Build) (64-bit).

I had earlier the same effect - after automatic update confirmed manually, the former version got updated and worked normally
within the same day - I tried switch off Slimjet and started again - all works good.
But on next day then the .manifest file gets lost from Slimjet folder and browser does not start -
Error message about that Side-by-Side configuration appears on screen.

After I restored manually this version .manifest file (which somehow had got lost from Slimjet folder) and had set this file - Read Only -
all works perfect. I described the process in my another post.

If some of Slimjet browser developers could find the reason - why that .manifest file gets lost from Slimjet Folder
on next day and fix it - I think the problem, which is causing Error message about that Side-by-Side configuration
could be solved.
