I also rolled back to 43.0.9.0. I did not experience all the issues that others have brought up, because within the first minutes of using, I noticed that the browser leaves on a lingering process that uses 10% of my CPU. I'm not sure if this buggy process stacks or not, but if it does, I can see how others experience 99% CPU usage.

Strange things happening here:
Updated yesterday evening before turning off the PC. Tested after update whether browser starts. It did. Closed browser properly, turned off PC properly.
Today trying to start the browser comes this:
C:\Portables\SlimJet Portable\SlimJet Portable 44.0.2.0\Slimjet\slimjet.exe
Diese Anwendung konnte nicht gestartet werden, da die Side-by-Side-Konfiguration ungültig ist. Weitere Informationen finden Sie im Anwendungsereignisprotokoll. Weitere Details können auch mit dem Befehlszeilentool sxstrace.exe angezeigt werden.
(Incuding screenshots of error messages would be helpful but obviuosly is not intended in this forum, so I had to copy the text by hand, my PC speaks German, I am unable to translate this, I am lacking the techno vocabulary).
Using portables going back to the previous version is easy, as I always keep a few of the earlier versions until being sure everything works as intended. Anyway, I would like to know what happened. Why did it stop working overnight?

I have 2 copies of SJ portable 42.0.3.0
First copy did not open. Click and nothing happens. Nothing in task manager.
Second copy opened. Closed it, then it won't open just like the first copy.
What versions works?
