I updated my Slimjet to 43.0.1.0 and get this error:
Activation context generation failed for "<path to>\slimjet.exe". Dependent Assembly 122.0.6261.39,language="*",type="win32",version="122.0.6261.39" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.
I also tested the latest portable Windows x64, I downloaded and extracted it, when I tried running it I got the same error as above. I suppose I'll try downgrading.

For those of you who wear aluminum foil hats, the voices lie, don't believe them!
Mostly my replies are about Windows OS. If not I try to remember to specify Linux.

report submitted... I'm surprised if I'm the only one experiencing this issue while running Windows 10 x64

You are not.
Re: Error running Slimjet 43.0.1.0
It appears beneficial to set the *.manifest file to read-only in the Slimjet main directory immediately after installation.

This issue was an obstacle in my studies. I needed to find a quick solution because I have to be the top student to qualify for a scholarship. On another forum, I encountered a statement about the high effectiveness of using an online tool to assist with homework. The site https://essays.edubirdie.com/homework-help was particularly praised as a reliable resource frequently used for various assignments. This recommendation underscores the value of dependable educational tools to support students in their studies.

Re: Error running Slimjet 43.0.1.0
in my case setting .manifest to read-only didn't change anything, but I finally got it working:
I unpacked the portable version on a different drive (same drive might be ok) and deleted its User Data. Then I made a symlink from the User Data folder from my old Slimjet to the new Slimjet and it's working now.
