Syncing

Hi,
I have never tried this, but would like to know what will happen in this situation: I have two computers, and both have Slimjet installed, which syncs the same things (bookmarks, extensions, history, etc.) with the same Gmail account.
Suppose that I have 6 bookmarks on computer A and 20 bookmarks on computer B and that B is turned off and A is being used.
A: Being used
B: Turned off
Which one would be synced to which? Would the bookmarks on B synced to A, which is being used, immediately? Or, would the ones on A, which is being used, be synced to B, which is turned off? I am worrying whether the set of data on A would replace the set on B.

If I remember correctly it conjoins them such that whichever browser is logged in and is active making changes will be primary. I think the word used by google is "bi-directional".
If you want to have 2 browser instances sync differently then they need to connect to different google accounts.
OR
If using the same account for multiple browsers, you can just mentally think of one browser as primary but that can get confusing. And I don't think it actually works well to do it that way.
OR
One way to manage two browsers using the same account is to create different folders for bookmarks where you only make changes to the one folder of bookmarks for one browser you associate with it. This allows ALL the bookmarks to be shared but not over-written accidentally because your making changes to a different bookmark folder for each browser.
With the assumption that your allowed to use google sync at work an example of possible topmost folder structure for a browser at work and a browser at home syncing to the same google account could be like this:
Home Folder : Work Folder : Shared Folder
And then under those folders would be additional folders/bookmarks arranged however you want but always with the thinking that when your at Home you would want to primarily be using and making changes to the bookmarks falling under the Home folder. And while at Work use them under the Work folder. One thing I noticed is that it also synced extensions when I used it on different PCs which was a few years ago.

Hi, oftentired,
Thank you for the explanation.
This is not logical. The most logical way of thinking is: The most recently modified profile should be synced immediately to the old one.
Do you know where I can retrieve a copy of the synced data? Can I retrieve it from Gmail account anywhere?

Hi, oftentired,
I tried my situation using Microsoft Edge, and this is what I found: Using the same Outlook account on Edge, the existing, synced profile (profile 1) will be loaded onto the new profile (profile 2) associated with the same account; if I edit profile 2, the changes will be reflected in profile 1, because profile 2 now became 1 and 1 became 2. The bookmarks in Profile 1 will not replace those in Profile 2 but will be added to the latter, that is, the bookmarks in Profile 2 will be a sum of both those in 1 and 2.
I am not sure whether this would happen also with Slimjet; I have never tried it.
