Cannot log in to home page with SJ 17.0.9.0

Several weeks ago upgraded SJ from 32bit to 64bit. Now cannot go directly to my home page. It shows a pop up which says "Authentication required proxy http//us-central-003.staticnetcontent.com User name and password". I can then use my home button to load the home page.

Research shows that this may be caused by Windscribe. It says to close Windscribe before closing SJ. This did not correct the problem for me. I have closed Windscribe using the Task Manager and finally today I changed the service from automatic to manual and still have the problem.
The problem went away by following instructions in options for Firefox.

Will appreciate any suggestions on how I may correct this problem.

Surprised more people did not have this problem, this was a giveaway at GOTD for 60 free hours a month.
