Hi,
As an ex Firefox user I have to say that Slimjet is the easiest transition for me. It may be an offshoot of Chrome but it's very user friendly and MOST of my needed extensions are here too so that makes my life so so much better. So thank you. I used Vivaldi for a little while and do like it but Slimjet wins hands down.
So my two little niggles with my current set up.
1) I'm getting a double start page load up, meaning two tabs load up with my Start.Me page. Not sure what's causing that. I looked under the Start.Me page prefs, under my Google Chrome prefs and even at some of my extension prefs to see if there was some sort of a double entry there but I can't find one that I can plainly see is the culprit.
2) I keep getting these sporadic tabs opening up, like spam...lp.blpmovies.com, http://www.liveadoptimizer.com and https://s1.ichro.me/?cid=wVLL5D7AD5K3C62A1GT2S858
Getting a little tiresome with this. Is there a way to properly block these from bothering me with their constant push to install stuff? I'm happy with my installation and don't want nor need stuff like this.
I have the following Ad Blockers installed ... see the screen grab.
Thanks
Richard

1. I'm not sure what is giving you a double tab on startup. My best guess would be it is not a Slimjet issue but that it has to do with Start.me. Perhaps you might try disabling the Start.me extension and see what happens.
2. I'd shut off the extra ad blockers and then bring them on one at a time, check their settings as you do this make sure you've got them optimized.
And what I mean by one at a time is, run just one at a time and see how they perform alone.
You might also want to give the Slimjet built in ad blocker a go. It works pretty good for me, I use it alone and I have a minimum of ads making it past it.

Re: Couple of issues that seem new to me
Hi,
I've turned off all but the built in Ad Blocker so we shall see how that goes.
On the Start.Me double page load up I'm not sure where to look to delete those start up entries. This is supposed to be fully customizable browser, right? Well I've deleted the Start.Me extension, removed the link to the page in my Settings and I'm STILL getting a double loaded tab with the Start.Me page. I even gave in and installed the iChrome extension and got that partially set up as my new Start page and even put it as the default Start page in my Settings... guess what, Start.Me loads those two tabs on start up and the iChrome page is ignored. WTF? This is a bug, gotta be!
So my next thing to ask is is there a way to just delete all of my saved synced info for Slimjet? Every time I log into Slimjet via my Google account I get the same stuff reinstalled and WHAM those damned Start.Me pages are reinserted so this entire set up has to be reset I'm afraid as this is just wasting my time at this point.
Thanks for the help!

Re: Couple of issues that seem new to me
Ah HAH.. I found the culprit.... it's under "On Startup" option under Settings. I had two entries for the Start.Me page in there but I didn't do that so perhaps the sync between my work computer and my home computer somehow loaded up two instances of the Start.Me? Seems like a bug to me though! I'll continue to use the iChrome extension for the time being and see how I like it, if not I know where to set up my Start.Me page now.... yay

Now that this has been mostly settled. I'm moving this topic to the General forum. It is not really a Known Issue.

Re: Couple of issues that seem new to me
Oh and I'm still getting annoying tabs opening... this new one is the iChrome. Now that I have my Start.Me page thing sorted out I went back to using it. iChrome is installed still but it's not being used so now it's mad at me and wants to install all over again. I think not!
So how do I tell iChrome to go eat a hot dog and shut up and leave me the hell alone?

Yeah
• Click the Gear Icon and then select/click Settings
• In the search box type "People"
• Now you have the business for signing into or loging out of googles online cloud server
• If you click the little tiny arrows pointing to the side you open up a menu of choices for each main selection
• I suggest remaining signed in and adjusting the Sync Settings, but signing out works just as well

Hmm, not sure how that's going to prevent the iChrome from opening up "install me" tabs.... I looked under there and I'm the only person on my account, as it should be.

Re: Couple of issues that seem new to me
I responded to this
The People settings I pointed you to in my previous post show all the controls you have within Slimjet for the google cloud that is possibly reinstalling extensions and bookmarks on your new install. If you can't find what your looking for there, then you'll need to log into the google cloud itself online at their website and make your changes to your preferences there.
Your problems at this point are not issues with Slimjet, rather issues that come from outside it.RAMWolff wrote:Every time I log into Slimjet via my Google account I get the same stuff reinstalled and WHAM those damned Start.Me pages are reinserted so this entire set up has to be reset I'm afraid as this is just wasting my time at this point.

Re: Couple of issues that seem new to me
I have no idea about "Google Cloud" I do know about the Google Drive option I can access.. is that what your referring too? If so I already looked there and don't see any way to disable iChrome extension from bugging me. I'm going to write them directly and see what's up! Thanks
