Version 42.0.1.0 (portable) is the newest possible to work now, which let you restore and keep your user data. All the next versions are ruined now.

One detail more - may be it could be caused by that last Windows Update, for Windows 10 Professional 64bit,
I was having yesterday last night???
Probably not, as it's behaving exactly the same under Linux.

I suspect a new version of the very widely used Google Web Tools has rolled out to websites across the net, and there's something in the scripts that Slimjet doesn't like.
That would explain why older versions that used to work fine, now act up crazy as well.

I have for now temporarily switched to Cent, as this comes closest to Slimjet. It's based on an older Chrome version, but I am so used to set bookmarks by rightclick for example that I am always irritated when using Brave or any other Chromium based browser which are lacking this feature. Good thing: you can simply copy the bookmarks file from the user data from Slimjet into the user data in Cent and are set. I first tried the "import from HTML file" way, but that imports all bookmarks in one folder which messes up the structure I had. So I hope switching back to Slimjet one day will work the same way regarding the bookmarks.

Could it be the built-in adblocker? On which programme is it based? I just try to find an adblocker for Cent Browser as I need one now - used to Slimjet and adfree internet.
I came across this review from "Commander P" from 19th October:

It´s not the built-in adblocker because you don´t have to use it and Slimjet is still crashing without.

For me Ublock Origin is the best adblocker worldwide because it blocks absolutely everything. I would really like to use the built-in one but it is to weak for my taste.

This might make sense, because I would trust Google to sabotage other versions of Chrome browsers so that we can no longer use adblockers. ;)

For me the latest working installed Slimjet version is 42.0.3.0. Absolutely crashfree on Windows 10 x64. Tested it right now because techone777 already told so at page 3 of this thread. :)

The base version of Chromium is way too old in 42, so many sites and features don't work properly anymore... Even in 43. Unless 44 is fixed within 2 days, I'm going to Brave or something and not coming back (too much trouble to redo my tabs setup).
