I, personally, prefer using the mouse right-click method for opening a new bookmark or for clicking on a link in email or web page.
The right-click method will offer you the options for opening that selection in a new tab or new window...I prefer to use my mouse center button for auto-scrolling on the currently loaded page...

With middle click (opening in background) is exactly the same as right click open in a new tab but one less click of the mouse, it was and still the default method in browser's but for some reason slimjet devs changed it
