Stop Hiding the Full URL in the Address Bar!

Post by Steve-OH »

Users should not have to adjust this policy from within Slimjet://Flags. It should NEVER have been Implemented in the first Place. WHY Conceal such a Thing???

I agree. Why hide part of the URL? With Safari on the iPad, everything in the URL is hidden except the domain name and suffix of the hostname. Even the prefix is hidden. What is the point of that? Is the prefix so dangerous that it must be hidden?

until, or perhaps unless, the developer decides to suspend this chromium "feature", you can easily and rather quickly double click the address bar to reveal the full URL. Also, if you copy the URL it will copy the full URL. Also, you can set the Flag to disable it.

Paste, Slimjet://flags into the omnibox and then you can search for words from the below listed flags to narrow down the choices

Disable both of these

• Omnibox UI Hide Steady-State URL Scheme
• Omnibox UI Hide Steady-State Trivial Subdomains

I have already set those things for Slimjet, and am seeing the full URL including the protocol. Too bad I cannot do that with Safari. Why hide the protocol?
