Hi,
Under Windows 7-64 and Window 10-64 I do use the portable version of
FlashPeak SlimJet Version 15.1.3.0 (based on Chromium 59.0.3071.86)
Portable because I need a browser that keep history, bookmarks
and setting no matter what for any logged user.
I run this on a single PC with a multi boot utility.
Either Windows 7-64 on C:NTFS and Data on D: fat32
Or Windows 10-64 on C:NTFS and still the same DATA disk on D: fat32.
D: is not a USB drive but a primary partition on the main SSD drive
Windows 7 partition is hidden to Windows 10 and vice-versa.
And D: is of course seen by both os.
The problem: Each time I boot in different OS
My option "Continue where you left off" is now deselected an I got
"Slimjet detected that some of your settings were corrupted by another program and reset them to their original defaults"
Any one have an idea on how to avoid this side effect?
It might be due to the different logged user
or an hidden reference on the Windows drive, aka C: in my case that won't be the same on Windows 7 vs Windows 10.
I looked in the registry, but beside normal default browser setting and associations, all look normal.
I used the Options/ Custom cache directory and used a custom foder in SlimJet folder.
I saw some ad-on "Session Buddy" that might help but would prefer a more direct approach.
In a word, for a single user on any OS, I'd like it to be totally portable.
Thank you!

Sure, on your SSD drive where you have portable folder. Make a copy of that folder with some basic name change for the folder, and use a different instance of portable for each OS.Peter Jetslim wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 10:33 pmAny one have an idea on how to avoid this side effect?

If I follow you right, your advise is to have two copy of SlimJets in two different folders.
Like...
"D:\Browser\SlimJetBrowser\w7\"
"D:\Browser\SlimJetBrowser\w10\"
and use the one related to the current OS, is that it?

Re: Totally portable !
Thank for your time.
Well, in that case, it's not "totally portable", it's not even portable at all!
Again, the primary goal is to keep my setting, bookmarks and history
with a working "Continue where you left off" option and no settings corruption.
I quit using FireFox but have done exactly this for many years with their portable edition.
Let me give a concrete example:
I quit Windows 7 after a SlimJet session end reboot in Windows 10.
I want to reopen SlimJet exactly as it was under Windows 7 when I left.
Same "Open Tab", same history, and updated bookmark so I can continue my work and tests where I left off.
Anybody have a solution?
Thank you.

Re: Totally portable !
Cent browser is fully portable. Didn't used to be when I first started using it. But now I can copy that folder to another PC, or boot from another partition, and it is fully logged in to Google and all my websites that were logged in last use.
