turbocharger download, any downside?

Post by lalagida »

I first want to thank you for developing such a good browser for everyday use like this one. can't be happier!
and among many features is the turbocharger download manager that makes it faster to download stuffs online. it surely gets its job done at turbo speed as the name suggests. not sure if it's 12x faster but I am happy anyway.
what I am wondering is if it has any direct/potential drawbacks while using it for every downloads one does, e.g) causing more ssd wearout or leaving residues of file fragments on the way.
I've read the guide for the turbocharger section and there isn't enough information about how it works in further details.
maybe it's more so because i am not so tech savvy and missed something while reading the articles.

None that I know of. However the "faster" download is going to be dependent upon your available internet speed/bandwidth. If you have excellent internet capability you should notice the difference when using it.

thank you oftentired for a reply. my internet connection is quite decent and fast enough, I noticed the difference instantly after brief experiment of comparison between turbo downloader and traditional chrome download for same files, though a few of them gave me similar results, but in general turbo is faster.

p.s)for the video downloader plugin for youtube, I think it does write more of ssds in that it first downloads multiple audio and video files separately and combine it later,so I guess i will stick to 3rd party online converter to get pure mp3 audio file.
