mp3-mp4 encoders version vs Slimjet version

Post by chrissss »

Instructions to install encoders for mp4, mp3, + AAC are on this page:
https://www.slimjet.com/en/libffmpeg.php
A part of that says: "the major version of the ffmpeg library should match with the Blink engine version of Slimjet"

Hope somebody can help with:
1) How to tell the version of the encoder before installing them. I believe the sudo command will simply retrieve them and install them, and NOT offer any option to see the version before installing, or abort if the version is not the right one.

2) What is the "Blink engine version of Slimjet"? When I do "settings>Help Ctr>About" it shows this:
Version 14.0.2.0 (based on Chromium 57.0.2987.98)
So is the Blink engine version" the Slimjet version 14, or the Chromium ver 57 ?

thanks in advance,
Chris

Mostly my replies are about Windows OS. If not I try to remember to specify Linux.
