Slimjet linux mint mate no video on youtube

because use on windows slimjet I consider the best browser the absolute
I also decided to install it on linux mint 32bit mate

I chose the package version .deb (debian ubuntu) 32bit.

after customizing the browser (on the advertising block) I tried to go on youtube but the videos do not work

I also tried using the default settings but nothing.

how do I fix?

slimjet incorporates flash, because then it does not work?

if this version has bugs so why put it in download (or at least to provide the instructions to solve any problems)

NOTE (for zip package): Extract the archive into any folder you choose. Run the script "flashpeak-slimjet" from the terminal for the first time to enable the sand box (admin access required). After that, you can run it from anywhere.

I did exactly what you suggested, but still there is no download button on youtube.
Edit: I was wrong. There is a download button on youtube, but not below the video. The button is in the browser input field (? I don't know the word for it, therefore I will show a screenshot )

I have Linux Mint 17.3.

The download button on youtube simply doesn't work in Slimjet.
When I click on it, nothing happens.

When I visit Vimeo website, and click on the blue download button, a window opens where I can choose in which format I want to download the video.
Just tried it works fine.

But not on youtube. There the button somehow is locked.
I completely disabled the ad-blocker on youtube but this doesn't unlock the download-button.

I would be glad if somebody would find a solution for this.

As long as there is none, I will use firefox to download youtube-videos.

Not withstanding your problem, this was added in

7.0.3.0 (1/26/16)

• A button with the tip "Download video from this page" will be shown at the right end of the omnibox if a downloadable video is detected on a web page. Click that button to download the video.

On youtube this should be in addition to the Download Button that should be displayed below the Video window near the main title of the video.

I like that blue download button and it works fine on several websites where I downloaded videos clicking on that blue button.

I found postings from other Slimjet users who say that for them the second download button below the video is visible and is working on youtube.
And they say that they have Linux Ubuntu 16.x and/or Linux Mint 17.x

I will search further to find a solution.
My OS is Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa 64-bit and I like it very much.

Here is what I found helpful as long as the download from youtube doesn't work on my Linux Mint 17.3 Slimjet.

It is ClipGrab for Linux.

Easy to install and easy to use. Tested it and am pleased.
I only have to start the ClipGrab, insert the url of the youtube-Video and then start the download.
