Cannot Rewind / Forward HTML5 Video

Post by jaguar99 »

I can't skip forward in some videos, while I can in chrome, is that a know bug?
and the opening/closing tab seems not so fluid.

I concur with jaguar99. There are a lot of flash video examples embedded on a few sites I visit where I cannot skip forward. All it will do is start over from the beginning. Chrome works, although I tried on Cent Browser and it acts exactly like Slimjet. Don't worry Slimjet is my goto! But this problem needs to be addressed. It has been happening for awhile. I actually reported a similar problem here a while ago although with less detail (and I thought it was the built in ad-blocker) viewtopic.php?f=5&t=713

Tracked down what I believe to be where the problem lies with not being able to skip forward on certain videos.
  • So if you visit this link, (about the only non-porn example I could find, I I'm not really into Anime) https://kissanime.to/Anime/Boku-no-Hero ... ?id=126058
  • You cannot skip forward in this video, but there is an option to switch to flash player in a drop down above the video.
  • Once you siwtch to flash you can advance and rewind like normal.
  • So this issue lies in HTML5 video.
  • Cent Browser exhibits the same problem.
  • SRWare Iron exhibits the same problem.
  • Google Chrome does NOT

It would be nice to know if you guys were looking into particular issues such as this. I know time is precious but I dunno if I am also wasting my time posting issues.

They review the bug reports. Just not every day of the week. Closer to once a week.

Thanks so much for acknowledging the issue! Guess I'm a bit demanding from someone doing something for free... Apologies.

This problem started for, me with version 10.0.5.0 on Windows 10. Never had it before. Makes Slimjet (my favorite browser) useless for video.

Selecting "use flash for youtube" in the settings doesn't seem to do anything.
