Transfer Aliases?

I've had to do a complete rework of my profile from scratch because of instability again. The only things I was able to transfer are settings for the Stylish and Selection Search extensions, and my bookmarks file.

What I would like to rescue, though, are my alias definitions. I have retained the old profile folder, so if they're there I should be able to pull them out. But I don't know where to look. Any ideas?

BTW, I couldn't use google's sync to do this because it crashed the browser, even on a fresh profile. I wish there was a way to save and restore these settings locally through a simple file structure even when the old profile becomes corrupt.

I think I got it. It's a section in the Preferences file, and the file is saved in utf-8 Linux format.

No, it's not sticking. Unless I can figure this out aliases and omnibox searches will have to be entered manually. There ought to be a better way.
