Slimjet 4 & 5 Both Hang in Debian 8 LXDE

Post by LaneLester »

At http://lxlinux.com/ where there's a tutorial for LXDE, the author recommends Slimjet as an alternative for older browsers. I've been a Firefox man for years, but I keep trying other browsers to see what they offer.

I first downloaded the 4.0.15.0 .deb version and tried to install it. I used Synaptic to fix some missing dependencies, and then the install went OK. However, when I execute /usr/bin/flashpeak-slimjet in the terminal window, the prompt moves to the next line and then nothing else ever happens.

I then installed 5.0.1.0 and got the same results.

Could you try the tar.xz package and see if it works?
