I only recently started using this browser. However, it's lacking in some features that are standard in other browsers. However, I'm having two issues with it in particular:
1) Only certain YouTube videos will play - others give me "an error occurred". They play in other browsers.
2) It keeps crashing and shutting down.
This browser needs work...

Re: This browser is flaky
It used to be great, but more and more annoying glitches in the past few years, and now simply unusable since last week. I think the (very?) small dev team is just more and more overwhelmed. I'm hoping it gets back on track eventually!

Re: This browser is flaky
I discovered this browser back in 2018. I had just started reusing an old laptop running Windows Vista, and a website I was on, showed an ad for Slimjet. The browser was promoted as being faster than Chrome, due to numerous optimizations performed under the hood. Slimjet also has a weather extension baked in, which is not from the Chrome Web Store, and gets info from Weather Channel.
Back when I found Slimjet, these features were relevant, because almost no alternatives were on par with Slimjet. But, that was 6 years ago. Alternatives like Ungoogled Chromium and Brave have more or less caught up in terms of speed and performance. Ungoogled Chromium also keeps up with Chromium updates, while Slimjet base is regularly 2-3 versions behind. Iridium browser's base, an unGoogled alternative with a fancy name, is even more far behind than Slimjet. I'm not putting down Slimjet or saying it has gone bad. What I am saying is, people always need to keep track of alternatives and keep backup browsers on hand, for when one or more browsers get buggy.

Re: This browser is flaky
Twitter now refuses to cooperate with any ad blockers, tracker blockers, and even browsers that are privacy-hardened by default, like LibreWolf. So, I had to go look for an alternative for that. Opera GX ended up being the best candidate for "Twitter-compatible browser that is NOT Chrome".
Edit: Actually, Opera GX has some badass features that no other browser has. Seems like a waste to just use it for Twitter. I might need help finding an alternative for my "Twitter-compatible browser that is NOT Chrome".

I don't use Twitter very often, but it seems to work fine with Slimjet. Could you let me know where you're experiencing issues?goldensun87 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 8:19 amTwitter now refuses to cooperate with any ad blockers, tracker blockers, and even browsers that are privacy-hardened by default

I'm going to say the problem is on and off. There may be no issues currently, but I'm not going to bother checking. I installed Thorium to use Twitter. Twitter still does not work on Firefox with my current set of blocker extensions and other settings.7PHC6ENB wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 4:52 amI don't use Twitter very often, but it seems to work fine with Slimjet.
