Recently, on a Windows PC I had a problem with Slimjet. It decided to close when it felt like it when I clicked on home tabs page (I have 3 rows of 4 tiles). My YouTube tile would open the Youtube webpage hang there for a short while and then close.
I "cured" it by deleting the User Data folder and putting an old version back.
I'm now having the same problem with my Linux Mint PC. I don't know where the User Data folder is so I tried uninstalling Slimjet and reinstalling but it leaves the User Data there when I uninstall.
Suggestions please (I'm already thinking of Firefox)
44.0.5.0 closing incorrectly
Re: 44.0.5.0 closing incorrectly
I am also having trouble with the recent builds. I have deleted all reference to the browser via uninstall /reg edit/rebooted and have downloaded the portable build which closes on opening of any webpage. This has been ongoing for me on and off for around 1 year. It goes through periods of stability, then out of the blue just crashes on opening of a webpage. All the other of the main internet browsers work as normal and have always done so
all security features switched off on installing. A bit of mystery for sure

Same thing is happening on my Slimjet install. The Home Tab loads ok, but as soon as I try to load any website, the browser crashes. It could be Slimjet's Weather updating causing a crash again.

Apparently this started in the last couple of day even on older (e.g. v43.x.x.x) installs.

Perhaps Weather Channel has changed stuff on their website, and the changes are causing all Slimjet versions to crash. Or it could be something else entirely.
Re: 44.0.5.0 closing incorrectly
Having looked at this more closely. You will need to uninstall completely the browser via a good uninstaller like ashampoo or revo. You will also need to go into reg edit and delete all reference there of flash peek and slim jet Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.and HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then reboot. Once back to the desktop, you must disable all antivirus software and any anti malware software and then reinstall.
You will then need to go in the tool sections of your antivirus and anti malware software if you use one and add the flash peek browser to the exclusion list
it would appear to me that my antivirus software and my anti malware software was causing this glitch.

Tried installing 44.0.6.0 - the problem still seems to be there on Linux

Where did you get 44.06.0 for Linux? The download page still shows 44.0.5.0.Heirophant wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 7:32 amTried installing 44.0.6.0 - the problem still seems to be there on Linux
Not everyone is a genius like you; treat them accordingly.

https://www.slimjet.com/
Just underneath it quotes 44.0.6.0 and I now realise that its quoting the Windows version and I didn't bother to read the version number again before I downloaded - just assumed that the number quoted on the landing page applied to Linux because that's what I was using.
I shall continue checking properly at intervals.
