Suddely keeps crashing without any changes

I am experiencing this too, on both Linux and Win10. Started suddenly after having worked stably for several days.

Linux: Version 44.0.5.0 (based on Chromium 126.0.6478.17)
Win10: Version 43.0.9.0 (based on Chromium 122.0.6261.39)

Disabling extensions makes no difference.

Launched from the console in Linux, the last few messages just before Slimjet crashes out:

Could it be related to a commonly used extension?
Like uBlock?

The extensions I use I already use for ages. I have not installed anything new. I have 4 profiles of which I use 2 regularly, the other two I haven't opened for several months.

Profile 2 is practlcally used only for Facebook and has only very few extensions which are listed in my starting post of this thread. Profile 1 has many extensions including the ones in Profile 2 except for what appears in the list above as "cat" (and as active though it isn't, it is installed, but disabled).

So, if it's an extension, it would be logical to number it down to these few. Any ones in common?

Both profile 1 and profile 2 crash, independently (no matter whether I start with profile 1 and then open profile 2 from the dropdown out of 1, or start the browser with profile 1 or profile 2 only without using the other). Crashing seems to be more violent on profile 2. The stange thing is that before the entire thing started I was able to check and answer my emails as well as checking whether I have an answer from a seller on an adverstising board. Both with profile 1, then I opened profile 2 from the dropdown in profile 1 to check my Facebook and contacted a company via their Faceook profile, wrote this message, and then the crashing started.

A few years ago I already experienced such a sudden violent crashing of a browser version which had worked fine for a long time - I think it was one of the 40.0 series, but then updating cured that. So I decided to do the update to the current version - unfortunately this time this was not the solution

After every start, SJ asks if I wanted to report a recent crash. There wasn't a recent crash and I reported this a while back but got no response. I would just hit Cancel and carry on.

Today, I hit cancel for the crash report then I go to "Restore recent pages" and regardless of whether I hit Restore or Cancel, the browser shuts down. I scanned my PC with three different AV apps but they showed nothing. I don't know what is stopping the browser from operating but I suspect it's the latest version.

I just got out a laptop which I only infrequently use.

Linux, 43.0.3.0 (based on Chromium 122.0.6261.39) - Worked perfectly the last time I used it.

It too is crashing randomly, just as the later releases are doing. Old versions of Slimjet are suddenly breaking.

That's what I said, my perfectly working 43.0.9.0 suddenly started crashing, and even my old 42.0.3.0 - not touched since spring or so - crashes.

I can rule out the "open extensions tab" theory: I had it NOT open, and the thing just crashed.

And also as I posted above: in the old 42 version I also can no longer open that website I posted above which I have as a bookmark, also there I get that error. But I can open it fine in Edge.

Same . Started crashing this morning .Nothing changed in past week othher than upgrade to current version. Version 44.0.5.0 32 bit.

As i already stated too, it doesn´t matter which version of Slimjet you use. It also doesn´t matter which extension you use. As it also doesn´t matter which OS you use. The crashes definitely have to do with another reason like a Flashpeak certificate which is not valid anymore, a global attack from who knows who or something else like that. We all need the help from the developers or the owners or both in this case.

Until then we have to live with Edge, Firefox or Chrome. They all work fine but they are not as good as Slimjet of course.

OK, Good. I'm not the only one. There were no updates to my system, I did not make any changes to my system, and all of a sudden Slimjet started to crash. The same thing happened back in Aug 2024 a new update was released and fixed some of the the problems. Now having the same crashing issue again. I reinstalled Slimjet still crashes. A new update for SlimJet came out a few days ago and it was working fine until last night. I'm using Windows 11. Version 44.0.5.0 (based on Chromium 126.0.6478.17) (Official Build) (64-bit) If that helps

Something completely crazy and inexplicable is suddenly happening here and absolutely needs help from the Slimjet developers.
It doesn't matter which version of Slimjet you install, they all just crash. It also doesn't matter whether you activate or deactivate uBlock Origin. That doesn't change the crashes at all. Up until yesterday, everything was working fine for me and since today, Slimjet has just been crashing. Google Chrome is running stable and Firefox is running stable too. Only Slimjet suddenly no longer runs without crashing. As if it is being attacked from outside. I'm asking for help because I don't want to use any other browser than Slimjet. I love it more than anything!

I would make accent on this sentence - "As if it is being attacked from outside."
Could be sure, as simple as that.
I have read on some Russian software forums that Slimjet is a too successful competitor for Russian made Yandex browser.
Some forum members are writing comments that there is too much attention paid to Slimjet browser in Russian forums,
they think that Yandex browser is better (because it is Russian). You know - all about this Youtube and many other
URLs restricted now for Russia. So may be it is intervention against Slimjet from outside...

P.S. I have the same problem, with Portable version 44.0.5.0, started crashing this morning, 26.10.2024.
But I have Slimjet Portable 38.0.8.0 as well on my PC (last for Windows 7/8)
This works without any problems. Writing this comment on Slimjet Portable 38.0.8.0 right now...

One detail more - may be it could be caused by that last Windows Update, for Windows 10 Professional 64bit,
I was having yesterday last night???
