Hello Apierson,
It would seem that you must have some other issue or corruption going on that's causing your difficulty with Slimjet.
The only thing I could suggest to you is to create an account over at Bleepingcomputer dot com and ask someone there for help. I've had good luck with them and they are very conscientious and thorough, although it DOES sometimes take a bit of patience on your part as to how fast (or slowly) they get back to you. Usually it's not too bad though. Another important thing with them is, make sure you follow their instructions exactly, don't jump ahead and try things on your own once they start the process-they really don't like that!
I'm sure they'll guide you (first and foremost) on backing up your system (always have a "safety net"!) then have you download and install some diagnostic and reporting programs and post the report(s) back to them. Then, (I'm assuming) they'll have you install a robust "Uninstalling" program (Like Revo)that'll help clear out any corruption that might exist with your current install of Slimjet and well as probably clean out the registry. Only downside that you'll have to be willing to accept is that you'll most likely loose any customizations you might have with Slimjet, but I would think that a small price to pay to get you back up and running.
Hope that helps. Good luck.
Thank you for the link to Bleepingcomputer. I'll create a login and will follow the instructions. At this point I'm not willing to jump ahead after reading some of the postings. I also suspect the Registry may be part of the issue.

Flashpeak, who is the developer, will rarely post on this forum. And he does not do so because someone asked or demanded assistance from a developer.
For those of you who wear aluminum foil hats, the voices lie, don't believe them!
Mostly my replies are about Windows OS. If not I try to remember to specify Linux.

I had this problem as well. The problem appears to be Windows 10 no longer accepting the Slimjet (SJ) Certificate. I was able to get around this as follows:
1. Un-install the current version of SJ.
2. Using a different browser, download the 32-bit full installer from https://www.slimjet.com/en/dlpage.php.
3. Re-boot your PC.
4. Run the downloaded sjsetup_x86.exe file as admin.
5. You should see a Win 10 popup window indicating the Certificate is not recognized. Choose to accept it anyway.
6. Once installed, run SJ and delete all of your history files (not passwords and browser links).
Slimjet should now be stable on your Windows 10 computer.
