Peculiarity logging in to PayPal

Post by Passenger »

I say peculiarity not bug, because it isn't really a problem. But I'd like some insight into what is going on.

Ever since the last update of Slimjet, every time I log in (from home) to PayPal (without a hitch) I get an email warning me there was a log in from a device they do not recognize. This is the same as I might get when I occasionally log in from somewhere else (I never use a phone for this).

Any idea what's going on under the covers?

Correct answer: No issue at all. PayPal is tightening up security all around.

The message is a bit misleading because it says device not recognized (an existing message), but now they are doing it for everyone who logs in from a desktop. Apparently most of their customers are using their phones for this.
