Slimjet does not pass my data on to Google.
But is that also so if I use the Google search engine instead of the SlimJet search engine?
Or do I loose my privacy if I use the Google search engine?

Slimjet doesn't send any data to Google's servers if you don't sync your bookmarks and other data with your google account.

If you use google search engine they will have from you the same data your browser shows to any other website that you visit. And, I have no doubt, they track every-bodies search habits. Not on a personal level so much as on a statistical level. As with any other business, I am certain it is about making the most money they can out of their product. Research data is key to that task. If your logged into any Google product with your browser when you use google search from that browser they will likely be able to identify your login information as being related to the search you do.
