Show Aps button on left of my toolbar

Show Aps button on left of my toolbar
It takes up prime toolbar real estate space. What function does it serve? Why can't I delete it, or even move it?

Are you talking about the "bookmark" with the label "Apps" that is on the Bookmarks bar?
You right click anywhere on the Bookmark bar and second from the bottom of the context menu is the toggle selection to Show Apps button. Click on that to toggle the Apps button off and on.
