Suddenly blocking http?

Post by yrralrellim »

I have a NETGEAR Router which enables me to use ReadyCloud. With ReadyCloud, I have a USB thumb drive which plugs-in to a USB port on my router. To access the thumb drive, I logon to my NETGEAR ReadyCloud app which has always had an http web address and NOT an https address. I have been using Slimjet and NETGEAR's ReadyCloud for more than one year with no problems. Suddenly today, on my desktop PC, the webpage to my ReadyCloud "website" will not load to the logon page. Slimjet keeps continually bouncing back and forth between the correct http address and an incorrect https address. My Slimjet version is 31.0.2.0 which did not just change from a previous version. My laptop has the same Slimjet version and I have no problem loading the correct ReadyCloud http webpage on the laptop. Also, I have no problem loading the http ReadyCloud webpage using a different browser on this desktop PC. Evidently I have changed one or more settings on this desktop PC in error. I did install the "Click&Clean" extension this morning on this desktop PC to try it out but then I uninstalled "Click&Clean" (hotcleaner.com). How do I get SlimJet to all of its default settings? I think I can then make my correct Setting changes. Please help.

I completely uninstalled Slimjet (INCLUDING all settings). I rebooted Windows 10 Pro 10.0.19043 which has not changed in several days. I reinstalled Slimjet 64-bit browser. I still have the same problem when I try to logon to my USB thumb drive in a Slimjet http browser window.
Neither http: readycloud.netgear.com nor http: readycloud.netgear.com/client/index.html#page=access will load in my Slimjet browser but loading is correct on this PC with another browser (Opera). When Windows starts, the ReadyCloud app logs on just as it should and opens my thumb drive in a file explorer window.

I fought this very same problem for a couple of days with no fix. Finally, my fix for this problem on my Lenovo desktop machine was to change my default browser to the Vivaldi browser!
