How do you resize the url thumbnails in the customizable new tab page?

Before I would just reduce the number of columns and they would automatically get bigger, but not anymore; my version is 31.0.1.0 64 bit, and I'm using windows 10.

I changed mine from 2 rows of 4 making it 4 rows of 8 and they got a lot smaller
