[SOLVED] The video cannot be played because of a technical error (Error Code: 100000)
[SOLVED] The video cannot be played because of a technical error (Error Code: 100000)
Slimjet is my default browser, but many months ago it stopped playing videos on many sites. Instead, it displays the message in the subject of this post. An example are the videos on weather.com, but there are many others. It works on youtube and many other video sites, but the ratio is about 50/50 for sites which work or not. Other Chromium based browsers don't have this problem, including Chrome, Opera and Torch. Any help will be appreciated, since Slimjet is my default browser and I don't want to change it.

Are you on Linux or Mac? If so, do this:

Thanks for your answer. No, I'm on Windows 10, 64-bit LTSB>

Will the videos play in incognito mode or do you get the same error?

With the weather.com videos, all I get is a picture rather than a video. There is no error message. This happens with Opera, SeaMonkey, and Pale Moon as well as Slimjet. Only Safari plays the videos. The other browsers play most videos pretty well, so I doubt that it is a problem with libffmpeg.

I get a picture too, but I can click on the picture to start the video. That doesn't work for you?

No, it doesn't work for me. Normally, I don't have to click on the picture (it's different from browser to browser). Slimjet reads the code behind the picture and loads the video in a few seconds (like Opera and Torch), but instead of the video, it comes up with the error message. Other browsers, like Firefox, require a click on the picture to load the video.

@anonimosity:
All my browsers (I have nine installed), play weather.com videos, except Slimjet. Some load the video automatically (after the picture), some need a manual click on the picture.

Ok, I'm stumped then. Hard to say what the cause is with you on Win & me on Linux.
