"Ad blocker is now enabled by default..." message

Post by danielson »

This "Ad blocker is now enabled by default..." message keeps popping up at opening of browser.
I have it disabled since i use Adguard and it still shows up.
Anyway to disable these messages?

Something must have gone wrong. That message is supposed to be shown only once.
Does this message come up every time you open Slimjet?

You can chat with me on this page https://purechat.me/bq1vjx so that we can quickly debug this issue.

So you have the problem too? Type chrome://open_profile_folder into address bar to open the profile folder. Switch into "default" folder and then open the "Preference" file under it with a text editor. Search for the keyword: last_notification_id and check its value. Its value should be set to 2 after the ad blocker message has been shown once.

If you have time, you can meet me on the chat tool as well (https://purechat.me/bq1vjx).

This is in the preferences file,"last_notification_id":2,"

That would make it very hard to understand. If it's 2 already, that means the notification of id 2 has been shown and should never be displayed again.
However, it's a user specific setting. If you create a new user every time, you might see the notification message once per user.

Please let me know if it comes up again for you tomorrow.

OK installed on the 20th, it didn't come up today the 22nd. Not sure why it took more than one 24 hour cycle to retain the "2"

now if you could do something about the XP Vista support warning.....

I didn't know the problem about the warning for XP and Vista. We will remove the stupid warning. People stick to XP and Vista for their own reasons. If they choose to stay with XP or Vista up till this day, I doubt any of them will upgrade their OS just to get their browser running again. It is stupid to throw a constant warning about it at every run.
