New tab issue

In the new beta (34.0.0.0), when opening a new url in a new tab from either bookmarks or from the address bar, the url of the current tab changes to the url of the new tab, resulting in two identical tabs. This is repeatable 100% of the time. This issue occurs with all extensions disabled, with preferences reset to default and after a clean install.

Well my v33 is doing it now on a different PC. Weird.

EDIT: Seems to be caused by an extension:

CrxMouse Chrome™ Gestures 5.0.1

I disabled "Enable Super Drag" and it is normal again.
Will check the other PC with 34 later.

So it is not doing it now on the PC with 34 beta. The super drag setting was synced through Google.
Somehow that extension got the super drag setting turned back on and synced with v34
So it's resolved for me. YMMV

I don't have the CrxMouse Chrome™ Gestures 5.0.1 extension installed, so there has to be at least one other cause of this issue. On my system, this bug persists with all extensions disabled and with a reset of preferences to default. Any suggestions?

Download the portable version and test without syncing. See if it happens. If it don't happen, log in and sync with Google and test.

I am not able to reproduce this.
For those of you who wear aluminum foil hats, the voices lie, don't believe them!

I did as you suggested and installed the portable version without syncing to google and the issue wasn't present. I then synced with google and the issue reappeared. I then disabled all extensions and reset the preferences to default, but the issue was still present. It must have something to do with google sync in some way.

Did you re-start SJ after diabling extensions? And you may need to uncheck "Continue running background apps when Slimjet is closed".

I did restart SJ after disabling the extensions and made sure that the persistent background option was unchecked and still got the same result. Since it seems that the author can't reproduce the issue, there has to be something wrong with my profile for google sync that may be causing the issue.
