Cannot update browser

Post by doll0x01 »

Hello. I use Slackware 14.2x86 stable. I installed slimjet from repository about 5 months ago and updated it from official site 2 or 3 times since that, and then I turned automatic checking for new version off. 9.07.2018 I downloaded stable version, 32 bit, tar.xz from https://www.slimjet.com/en/dlpage.php page, but I couldn't decompress the archive. I've checked md5sum, it's ok, but when trying xz -t slimjet....tar.xz, I get a message: Unexpected end of input. So decompression by tar finishes with error and I can't run the program.
My version of xz is 5.2.2, liblzma - 5.2.2.
What should I do to update browser to new version?

Will the 32 bit deb version work on Slackware? If not, you might post your problem on the Slackware forum.

Thanks. I have 3 mashines with the same version of slackware, and as I tried to decompress the archive on the 3-d one, it was fine. I even reinstalled xz utility and then upgraded it to 5.2.4 having had built a package from its official site on those which I had problem with, but it didn't help. So I don't know what the reason is, but it obviously is not archive itself. I think the topic may be marked as solved.

Oh, I downloaded it once again today, 11.07, and everything is alright. The archive on the site was changed, as it has different md5sum. Thank you.
