version 14: page load error

Post by josegimcam »

I´m getting an error since updating to 14.0.2.0. Until now seems to be only in http://www.el-nacional.com.

This error only occurs in Slimjet, not FF or Opera.

Should I submit crash report?

Thanks.

Re: Error loading page 14.0.2.0

I had the same with 14.0.0.0 and 14.0.1.0, haven't tried the latest.

It happened when I hovered on any embedded Vimeo video. Disabling the hw acceleration didn't helped. Didn't happened on another PC with the same version of SlimJet. (Win8.1 both)

Apparently not here. For example: https://vimeo.com/214521274. I can watch it ok.

It´s, as far I can see, the page http://www.el-nacional.com. I´ve tried everything to no avail. Te page works perfectly in other browsers.

Thanks.

No problem here with Slimjet 14.0.4.0 (tested with Slimjet X64 portable on Win 7). There is a reset button at the settings page. This will reset all Slimjet settings to its defaults. Then restart Slimjet and test it again.

Edit: Maybe it's an addon. Did you tried it with disabled addons?

Nop. I have 14.0.4.0 installed. Did a reset but to no avail. I´ve tried various things, included disabling antivirus (avast), recomendations on you tube, uninstalled, deleting everything included regedit, everything I can think of.
The strange thing is it only happens in slimjet, not in FF, Chrome, Opera and Vivaldi.
Thanks.

Hm, strange. Maybe an certificate issue with the antivirus ssl scan (yes, I know that you did a try whith disabled antivirus, but some antivirus make trouble in its disabled state also).

Slimjet isn't known by the ssl scan of the most antivirus software. The ssl scan of my antivirus isn't working correct with slimjet.exe but perfect after renaming it to chrome.exe. :)

Try the following:

Close Slimjet.
Rename the slimjet.exe to chrome.exe or make a copy of slimjet.exe and rename it to chrome.exe.
Start Slimjet with the chrome.exe from the program folder.
If it works now, make a program shortcut to the chrome.exe.

But if it is the antivirus, why this do not happen with other browsers.
And no, renaming the exe file gives the same error.
Thanks.

Oh sorry. I didn't notice, that http://www.el-nacional.com/ isn't secured by ssl/tls. Renaming the exe file can't work in this case, because the ssl/tls mitm of your antivirus isn't involved.

Have you tried the portable version?
32-bit: http://www.slimjet.com/en/postdl.php?ve ... 2&type=zip
64-bit: http://www.slimjet.com/en/postdl.php?ve ... 4&type=zip

Try a clean install:
- uninstall Slimjet
- delete manually:

Code: Select all

C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Slimjet
and

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files\Slimjet
or if your have installed the 32-bit version on an 64-bit Windows

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files (x86)\Slimjet
and

Code: Select all

C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp\slimjet
Reinstall Slimjet.
