Since Google has dumped 32-bit users, and Chrome was the best way to watch Netflix in Linux, is it possible for Flashpeak to add the Chromium patches that would allow it to use the Widevine DRM plugins, and possibly use the ones from a installed Chrome? I know Arch Linux has a patched Chromium that allows for that. The Ubuntu PPA is here: https://launchpad.net/~saiarcot895/+arc ... romium-dev
The patches would be in the /debian/patches folder, after you download and extract an XXXX.debian.tar.xz archive from the PPA. http://ppa.launchpad.net/saiarcot895/ch ... m-browser/

Re: [Feature Request] Linux - add Chromium patches
Sounds like a really useful addition for 32 bit Netflix users.

yes, here on linux I cannot seem to play either amazon prime as it is complaining that widevine plugin is missing. . . this would be a great upgrade.
Re: [Feature Request] Linux - add Chromium patches
It is not really about a patch. We don't put in support for the h.264 codec on Linux due to the patent and royalty issue. On Windows, we simply call the codecs shipped with the Windows system to get around that. However, so far, we didn't have the time to add the same kind of workaround on linux by delegating the decoding to external libraries.
