Why is Slimjet getting slower?

Post by beast-usa »

It seems every release just keeps getting slower?

Slimjet 64bit version 6.0.4.0 speed score on Linux 5952 (this is best of 5 tests with all the slow plugins turned off slowest 5685)

Even FireFox is about to pass Slimjet?

Is this just a temp glitch?
Will the speed come back or is this where it's going to stay and just keep getting slower until it's down to google (spyware) chromes speed?
Google Chrome version Version 46.0.2490.86 speed score 3603

And are you ever going to let us CHOOSE how that messed up menu bar looks? (Like back in version 4.0.10.0 and older)

Thank you for the great browser but please consider keeping it FAST & letting the user CHOOSE how the menu looks.

 6.0.11.0 on Linux OMG it's crawling?
All plugins disabled 5403 all turned on 5501?
Is this a glitch or is Slimjet really going to get as slow as google chrome?

I suggest download and run Speedyfox and then perform the test again; see how it goes. After I run Speedyfox Slimjet is noticeably faster in operation.

Thanks oftentired

I just compare version to version most of it speed is back up. It stays in the top two fastest FireFox 64bit will beat Slimjet in speed once in awhile.
But they stay pretty close.

I don't have the newest versions finished yet because life happens :)
But 9.0.3.0 in Canvasmark is beating every browser again in Linux. Still need to finish the Window 8 benchmarks.

I still install Slimjet on every computer I work on or have on one of my monthly service plans. About 80% of my customers have never heard of it. But have switched to Slimjet as their default browser. :)

Hi,
I have the latest version of the browser installed on two different laptop's..one laptop has windows 10 32-bit on it, and the one I'm typing this post on has windows 7 SP1 32-bit on it. On the computer with windows 10 on it..I couldn't be happier with the speed of Slimjet (it REALLY lives up to its name 'jet'). But on this windows 7 machine..pages tend to load a LOTmore slowly..on the windows 10 laptop, it does have the google chrome browser installed, on this machine I don't have google chrome installed..could that be the problem ?? I really didn't think I HAD tohave google chrome installed for Slimjet to function correctly.

There are no dependencies that I am aware of.

Hi All,
Just a quick update to my original post..since my original post I've had a WILD ride. On the computer I'm typing this message on, I had some MAJOR problems..I stumbled across a site on the internet ( Neverware ), that provides free software so users can turn their older windows computers into a chromebook computer. At least with my laptop..it didn't install correctly, and I ended up having to start from scratch. I had to re-partition my hard drive ..etc., just so I could re-install windows. Anyway, to keep a long story short..I have since downloaded/installed SlimJet browser. Sometime it's still rather slow on this computer, compared to my laptop that's a little and runs windows 10. But I still like using SlimJet..so I guess I just need to be patient with it.
David ;)
