Slimjet is pretty quick in updating in line with chrome tbh unlike as you mention other forks.

I've moved to Chromium stable till Slimjet updates to 43.0.2357.65 or newer only because sandbox escape is risky.
It doesn't say whether that was for all OS's and I run linux but just being safe.
