Switching to Brave as my default browser (after their last update), but not getting rid of Slimjet.
For one only Slimjet has built in YouTube video downloading.

Slimjet is getting rather feature rich for a browser pitched as "slim", but Brave is still a memory hog.

We'll see.

If this browser is presented as "slim" it's not because it has few functions (on the contrary, this browser has a lot of functions as you said), it's because it's powerful and it consumes less RAM than its competitors

Not dramatically different in terms of RAM, though with a slight edge to Slimjet in this example.
This is showing all processes not just the main one.



But I find myself having to wrestle with Slimjet after each new version.

So for the time being Brave is my everyday browser for non-frivolous business (and system default), but I'm still a Slimjet fan and will be using it most days.

Brave --
My default browser and primary for business use.
Not so clunky any more.
Ad blocking much improved.
Can handle torrents and play media from torrents in browser (hardly ever use this but nice to have).
The 'Tor' feature is basically unusable, but I have Tor itself for the occasions when I need this.
If you want it to be secure, you will need to be extra clever about the settings.

==> I had to wrestle with it to get YouTube to work right. Also no built in downloading, though there are ways.

Slimjet --
Near daily recreational use, especially YouTube.
Extension inventory about the same.

Tor --
'Nuff said.

Firefox type browser that supports the sort of paranoid security setting that I like (short of Tor and the drawbacks of same).

Got rid of Comodo Ice Dragon. Too hard to configure.

Tried and almost immediately deleted Edge.

Way too aggressive at trying to commandeer your computer.

I messed around with Comodo products a few years ago. I suggest avoiding them. Way too many things going on behind your back with it.

For some reason uploads to the clouds go noticeably faster with Slimjet than Brave after the latest upgrades to both.
I have no idea why this should be given that both are Chrome underneath, but so I have observed.
I like to fiddle.

So that's one more task back to Slimjet.

Also, if you're going to use Brave at all, turn off the "bitcoin for viewing approved ads" feechur.
Supposedly a selling point, but the hassle is definitely not worth the micro-payments.
Otherwise, everything else I said.

I gave up on Brave. It began lying to me. It disabled most of my extensions irreversibly, and the reason it gave was that they were not in the Chrome Web Store. I checked 3 of them, and all were still in the Chrome Web Store. If an application lies to me, I stop using it.
